Thanks for this. I work with those who are bereaved by the suicide loss of loved ones (and, parenthetically, have an org with supports clinicians after the loss of a client -Coalition of Clinician Survivors). Given how uniquely intense and traumatic this loss is, paired with the often missing social support accorded to survivors due to stigma, it's rare when survivors are NOT still grieving after a year. And research shows that for parents who've lost children to suicide, it takes 3-4 years before survivors feel they can get their bearings. The last thing they need is to be pathologized! Nina Gutin
